With a view to providing more professional legal services in funds sector and taking the lead in implementing the legal services supply-side structural reform, MM lawyers formed a team to take the Examination for Fund Professional Qualification(EFPQ) conducted by the Asset Management Association of China (AMAC). The examination results have come out today. With solid professional foundation and rich practicing experience, the first seven MM lawyers have all passed EFPQ with remarkable scores (the EFPQ includes two subjects: 1. Funds Laws, Regulations, Professional Ethics and Operating Rules; 2. Essentials in Securities Investment Funds).  

MM lawyers will continue to assist clients in going through registration of privately-raised funds managers and major change(s) in a more efficient and professional manner.

For purpose of protecting the interests of investors, fostering legal compliance in  the funds sector and preventing the moral risk of privately-raised funds managers registration applicants,the Announcement on Certain Issues Concerning Further Regulating the Registration of Privately-raised Funds Managerspublished byAMACand effected on February 5th, 2016 has provided that legal opinions of a Chinese law firm shall be produced and submitted in the registration of privately-raised funds managers or major change(s). Only upon the end of registration formalities and approval by AMAC, can the applicant engage in privately-raised funds management affairs. And senior managers in a privately-raised funds managers must obtain the fund professional qualification to meet the registration requirements.
